This actually happened

Age of Empires was released in 1997 and mixed real-time strategy with a tour through ancient history. Gathering food and wood mattered just as much as marching an army, which is why villagers often deserve more credit than generals. The next fact has its own story: Risk began as a French board game created by filmmaker Albert Lamorisse in the 1950s before becoming an international hit.
