One strange fact

Battlezone arrived in arcades in 1980 with glowing vector graphics and a first-person tank view. Looking through its visor-like display made the cabinet feel unusually immersive for a game built from simple green lines. Another rabbit hole starts here: Wolfenstein 3D, released in 1992, helped popularize the fast first-person shooter on home computers.
