Puzzle & Thinking Games · 31
Logic puzzles often become easier when the player marks what cannot be true, because eliminating possibilities can be more powerful than guessing what is true. The player-facing version of the idea is simple: Undo buttons radically change puzzle design because they let players experiment with hypotheses instead of treating every uncertain move as a permanent risk. The undo button knows more about your confidence than any personality test.

Worth knowing
A Möbius strip has only one side and one edge. Make one from paper with a half-twist, draw a line without lifting the pencil, and eventually you return to the starting point after covering what looked like both sides. Meanwhile, this bit of history is hard to resist: Nonograms, also called picture crosswords or Picross, reveal an image through number clues describing runs of filled cells. The picture is the reward for solving a tiny bookkeeping problem perfectly.
