Its numbered squares turn probability and deduction into a game where one confident click can still end very badly. For the next piece of trivia: The modern jigsaw puzzle grew from 'dissected maps' made in the eighteenth century. Mapmakers mounted geography lessons on wood and cut them into pieces for students to reassemble.
