Simulation racers do the opposite: tire temperature, weight transfer and setup choices can matter even when the car looks perfectly calm on screen. The category's past supplies the companion fact: A racing line is rarely the shortest path around a corner; drivers trade distance for a smoother arc that preserves more speed. Nothing makes a player respect geometry faster than a corner bordered by concrete.

The curious bit
The old Le Mans start made drivers run across the track to their parked cars, jump in and race away. Safety concerns eventually killed the tradition, which is why modern endurance races begin much more sensibly. For the next piece of trivia: Britain’s first person widely cited for receiving a speeding fine was Walter Arnold in 1896. He was reportedly doing about 8 mph in a 2 mph zone, and the police officer gave chase on a bicycle.
