Strategy & Defense Games · 2
A reserve force looks inefficient until the unexpected happens, at which point it becomes the only unit on the map with a free schedule. The history behind the category adds another layer: Upgrade trees make future planning visible, letting players trade immediate strength for access to stronger options later. Strategy games are where five minutes of planning can be defeated by forgetting one worker.

A fact with good replay value
Go has exceptionally simple rules but an enormous decision space. The board’s 19-by-19 grid creates more possible positions than anyone could realistically enumerate during play. The next fact takes a different route: The word 'gambit' comes from an old Italian wrestling idea of tripping someone. In chess it became a sacrifice offered early for some other advantage—usually time, space or initiative.
