Yie Ar Kung-Fu helped popularize the idea of facing a sequence of visually distinct martial-arts opponents, each with a different style to learn. Another angle makes it more interesting: A good action camera quietly protects readability, moving enough to show danger without becoming the most dangerous enemy on screen. Nothing improves respect for animation frames like being hit during one you thought was finished.

This actually happened
Virtua Fighter reached arcades in 1993 and became a landmark for fully polygonal 3D fighting. Its chunky early models look simple now, but at the time they showed that fighters could move beyond hand-drawn sprites. Another rabbit hole starts here: Street Fighter II's combo system grew from an animation-timing quirk discovered during development. Because chaining attacks together was difficult but fun rather than game-breaking, the behavior stayed—and became a foundation of the genre.
