Speedrunning communities often separate categories because a shortcut that is brilliant in one rule set may be completely forbidden in another. Another angle makes it more interesting: The hardest-looking section is not always the hardest to master; repeating patterns can become comfortable while one awkward transition keeps stealing attempts. The cruelest leaderboard position is second because it comes with exact instructions for what still hurts.

Two minutes of rabbit hole
The modern plastic hula-hoop craze exploded in 1958, but hoop games are ancient. People had rolled, spun and played with hoops made from wood, metal and other materials for centuries before plastic entered the picture. One more strange-but-useful detail: A Rubik’s Cube has more than 43 quintillion possible arrangements. The enormous number is why randomly twisting until it works is not much of a strategy.
