Educational games are strongest when the skill is part of the mechanic, not a quiz pasted between unrelated action scenes. There is a practical reason this matters in games: Immediate feedback is powerful because the gap between action and explanation stays tiny; the player still remembers exactly what they were trying to do. Children are excellent software testers because they will click the button the designer was certain nobody would click.
