Pajama Sam used point-and-click exploration to wrap problem solving inside a friendly story, showing how children's games could be funny without abandoning puzzles. One more layer: Open-ended creation is educational in a different way from quizzes because there may be many successful answers and the player has to judge which one serves the goal best. Kids' games often have the toughest design audience: players who will simply leave if the explanation becomes boring.
